The Expensive Education I Got Running a Donut Shop (And Why I’d Still Do It Again)

Introducing a New Chapter

After years of building brands and running Maxela, I’m excited to reintroduce myself and share the next evolution of my work and my story.

I’m Wendy. For the last 5+ years, I’ve been in the trenches running a brick-and-mortar donut shop in Mexico. The lessons I’ve learned from that experience are worth more than any university degree, even if they came at a much higher cost.

I know what it means to build a business from the ground up—the wins, the burnout, the pivots, and the pressure. I’ve faced financial stress, health challenges, isolation, and overwhelm. And I’ve come out on the other side with one clear goal: to help other business owners do it smarter.

I’m here for the dreamers, the doers, and the entrepreneurs who want to grow a business without losing themselves in the process. You can have a business that runs while you live your life. You can stay close to your family, nurture your friendships, and still create something incredible.

What I Offer

I combine real-world experience with hands-on, done-for-you services that bring your ideas to life.

Here’s what I specialize in:

  • Brand Identity & Logo Design
Clarify your voice, visuals, and market position with branding that truly feels like you.

  • Course & Program Development

What It’s Like to Work With Me

When you work with me, you work directly with me. No agency walls, no confusing handoffs. I bring 15+ years of experience in branding, business systems, and instructional design, plus real-world brick-and-mortar grit.

When needed, I collaborate with a small team of trusted creatives I’ve worked with for years, including designers, developers, and specialists who care about your business as much as I do.

I believe in clean design, clear messaging, and moving your business forward without fluff or overwhelm.
